§ Mr. McLoughlinasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he is now able to indicate when work will start on the building of the Ashbourne bypass.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyI expect to be able to appoint an Agent shortly to begin preparation work on a scheme to relieve Ashbourne. The future progress will depend on the results of their investigations, the successful completion of statutory procedures and the availability of funds. At this stage I do not expect construction work to start before the end of 1992.
