§ Mr. Dewarasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the total number of crimes recorded by the police in Scotland during the second six months of 1985, the number of crimes recorded in each category and the clear-up rates in total and by category.
§ Mr. RifkindThe number of crimes recorded, by category, during the second half of 1985 is as set out. Information on clear-up rates is not available for periods of less than a year, as it is collected in an annual return for the year as a whole. Clear-up figures for 1985 will be published shortly.
