§ Mr. John Patten[pursuant to his reply, 19 May 1986, c. 82]: The 50 authorities with the highest housing Z scores are shown in the table together with the figures. These scores are not, however, used by the Department to measure housing authorities' needs but are a variation on the statistical index of multiple urban deprivation used for inner city purposes in which housing variables have been given added weight.
