asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on the progress made by the National Coal Board (Enterprise) Ltd.

Mr. David Hunt

I am very impressed by the progress being made by NCB (Enterprise) Ltd. Since its formation in October 1984 up to the end of May 1986 the company had contributed to a total of 7,200 job opportunities. A total of £11.4 million of NCB (Enterprise) funds has been committed, generating a total investment of £70 million. NCB (Enterprise) Ltd's target for 1986–87 is to double its activities nationally by helping in the creation of 10,000 new job opportunities.

asked the Secretary of State for Energy when the National Coal Board (Enterprise) Ltd. intends to produce its corporate plan.
