asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he or his Department was consulted by the BBC over its refusal to broadcast Mr. David Bailey's film "Bury the Debt—not the Dead"; and if he will make a statement.

Neither my right hon. Friend nor the Department was consulted. Programme decisions are entirely a matter for the BBC.
