§ Mr. Frank Fieldasked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) by what means he will judge whether Swan Hunter is offering a competitive price for building the second type 23 boat;
(2) if the competitiveness of Swan Hunter's bid for the second type 23 will be judged against the bids he received from other yards competing for each of the third, fourth and fifth boat of this class.
§ Mr. LeeThe best and final tenders—which we have just received—in the competition for follow-on type 23 frigate orders will produce the basis of price and contract terms and conditions against which the single tender from Swan Hunter for type 23–02 will be evaluated.
