§ Mrs. FennerThere is comprehensive legislation regulating the safety quality and labelling of food. In addition, my Department carries out regular and ad hoc surveys under the aegis of the steering group on food surveillance. The results of these surveys are published both in the scientific literature and by HMSO in food surveillance papers: 16 have been published to date.
