HC Deb 03 June 1986 vol 98 c429W
Mr. Campbell-Savours

asked the Secretary of State for Defence why three service men acquitted at the end of the Cyprus spy trial have been discharged from the services.

Mr. Freeman

Five service men have so far been discharged from the services following the conclusion of the Cyprus secrets trial. Four left on completion of their engagement and one left at his own request. The remaining three service men are at present still serving in the Royal Air Force: the Air Force Board has been recommended to consider their discharge. The reasons for the recommendation have been given to the service men, who have made representations to the Air Force Board.
