HC Deb 03 June 1986 vol 98 c431W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Attorney-General what were the terms of reference given to Superintendent Eames in connection with his visit to Cyprus to inquire into possible breaches of security involving 9 Signals Regiment; what limitations were imposed on his inquiries in respect of (a) the geographical area of his investigation and (b) the scope of his inquiries; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

Presumably the hon. Member is referring to the visit to Cyprus by three Metropolitan police officers in March and April 1984. The officers went to Cyprus in order to investigate, within the sovereign base area, allegations that service men in 9 Signals Regiment had committed offences under the Official Secrets Acts.
