§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) how many London properties under (a) draft compulsory purchase order and (b) blight notice as a consequence of proposed trunk roads are already owned by his Department; and what is their net market value;
(2) what is his estimate of the net market value of London properties under (a) draft compulsory purchase order and (b) blight notice as a consequence of proposed trunk roads; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThree hundred and sixty nine blight notices have been accepted by the Department to date in connection with proposed new trunk roads in London; of these 28 relate to properties which were under draft compulsory purchase order. All of these properties are either owned by the Department or in the process of being acquired. We hope soon to have details from the London Residuary Body of the properties originally acquired by the GLC in connection with Rochester way relief road. Estimates of the current market value of all these properties are not available.
