§ Mr. Kirkwoodasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what departmental guidance is given to operators of linear accelerator machines used in radiotherapy regarding the length of time the machines are in use;
(2) how many linear accelerator machines for radiotherapy treatment are in current use in the United Kingdom;
(3) whether he is satisfied with the safety of the older linear accelerator machines still in use for treatment in radiotherapy.
