HC Deb 25 July 1986 vol 102 c521W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will seek to make it an offence for coaches parked in the street to run their engines for the purpose of maintaining heating or air conditioning, when there are no passengers on board and no journey is in progress.

Mr. David Mitchell

I am not aware that this practice causes any problems, and I have no plans to review the revelant regulations which permit a vehicle to be parked with its engine running if needed to operate ancillary equipment.
