§ Sir John Farrasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will put in hand a fresh analysis on the number of jobs likely to be lost in the clothing and textile industries of the European Economic Community and of the United Kingdom if the multi-fibre arrangement is renewed on the terms proposed by the European Economic Community, to supersede the analysis produced by Professor Silberston in 1984.
§ Mr. Alan ClarkThe Community's mandate provides for the continuation of effective MFA protection and I see no advantage in any fresh analysis of the effects of the arrangement.
