§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make it his policy to collect details of each red alert and yellow alert including the hospital and health authority concerned, the starting and finishing dates of the alert and the causes, respectively.
§ Mr. WhitneyWe have no plans to collect this information centrally. It is the responsibility of health authorities to manage and supervise hospital and specialist services to meet local need. Arrangements for admission to National Health Service hospitals are planned to take into account circumstances which would significantly affect the demand for services.
