Friend is giving his full backing to the continuing expansion of the voluntary sector insulation projects, of which there are now 272 compared with five when my Department started to sponsor them in 1981; another 200 are at the planning stage. The Energy Efficiency Office has frequent contacts with Neighbourhood Energy Action, whose grant from my Department was increased this year by over 50 per cent.
