§ Mr. Canavanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list for 1985 the numbers of (a) reported crimes and (b) solved crimes in the central Scotland police authority area for each of the following categories and, in each case, the percentage increase or decrease since 1978 (i) violence against the person, (ii) burglary, (iii) theft/ handling of stolen goods, (iv) fraud/forgery, (v) criminal damage and (vi) other; and if he will give the total figures for both years.

637W"Fraud and forgery": fraud, forgery and uttering, bankruptcy and currency offences.
"Criminal damage": fire-raising, vandalism and other crimes of malicious and reckless conduct not involving violence against the person.
"Other crimes": all crimes other than those included above.
