§ Mrs. Currieasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when the report of the working group on services for people with epilepsy will be published.
§ Mr. NewtonThe report of the working group on services for people with epilepsy was published today and will be issued to helth and local authorities in England. Copies have been placed in the Library.
It is not intended as a blueprint for the provision of services by all authorities, but its recommendations to Government could be used as a basis for discussion by health and local authorities on improvements in services. The scope for adoption of recommendations in different areas will depend on the pattern of existing services, availability of resources and local priorities.
I hope that the report will stimulate discussion and be of assistance to professional staff responsible for the treatment and care of people with epilepsy and to managers and planners in the organisation of local services.
