HC Deb 21 July 1986 vol 102 c3W
Mr. Alton

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what standards or minimum requirements currently exist in Northern Ireland covering the use of bed and breakfast accommodation and hostel accommodation; and whose duty it is to inspect and regulate the standards.

Mr. Needham

The requirements covering the use of bed and breakfast accommodation are set out in Statutory Rules and Orders of Northern Ireland 1953 — No. 24 made under the Development of Tourist Traffic Act (Northern Ireland) 1948. It is the duty of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board to inspect tourist accommodation and to regulate standards.
