§ Mr. Ron Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will provide figures for the years 1979–80 to 1986–87 for the level of capital expenditure, broken down into major and minor works, purchase of items costing over £100,000, other teaching and research equipment, furniture/plant/machinery/ vehicles, unrelated to new building work, land acquisition, design fees, and any other expenditure, and showing the relative scale of expenditure in (a) the university sector and (b) the public sector of advanced further education.
