The report emphasises the considerable contribution to improving standards of manufacturing practice in the pharmaceutical industry made by the medicines inspectorate and its high collective and individual professional 447W standing in the United Kingdom and overseas. The report does not recommend any change in the current staffing level but provides guidance on developing management measures for obtaining the best value for money from the work of the medicines inspectorate.
