HC Deb 08 July 1986 vol 101 c124W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on Her Majesty's Government's relations with Ghana.

Mrs. Chalker

We enjoy good relations with the Republic of Ghana, a senior and respected member of the Commonwealth, though our two countries do not necessarily agree on every issue.

Trade between the United Kingdom and Ghana increased by almost 50 per cent. in 1985 and our pledged programme aid doubled to £14 million.
