38. Mr. Allen Adams

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will give an estimate of the amount of oil used in United Kingdom power stations by the Central Electricity Generating Board and the South of Scotland Electricity Board.

Mr. Goodlad

The Central Electricity Generating Board and the South of Scotland Electricity Board respectively used about 2.9 million tonnes and 0.7 tonnes of oil in their power stations in 1985–86.
