HC Deb 07 July 1986 vol 101 c89W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what circumstances the Ministry of Defence and the Property Services Agency takes into account when deciding on the redundancy terms to be offered to civilian employees at his Department's bases; and what has been the range of redundancy payment, in terms of years wages, that has been offered to various such employees over the past seven years.

Mr. Lee

Redundancy terms offered to civilian employees in the Ministry of Defence depend upon age and length of service and whether the individual concerned is in a mobile or non-mobile grade. These terms apply throughout the Civil Service.

The maximum redundancy payment made in the last seven years was two years wages and the minimum was one week. I am unable to provide information on Property Services Agency employees as they are the responsibility of the Secretary of State for the Environment.
