§ Sir George YoungThe current expenditure limit of £14,000 was prescribed by order when the Housing Defects Act 1984 came into operation on 1 December 1984, and was based on evidence on the cost of repairing Airey houses available at that time. The costs of repair methods for houses of various types designated under the Act are now being reviewed by my Department, to provide evidence for any revisions of the expenditure limit that may be needed.
