§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is (a) the amount of Government expenditure on the assisted places scheme for each year since its introduction, (b) the percentage this represents of total education spending, (c) the number of children covered by the scheme and (d) the proportion they represent within the maintained school population.
