asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what urban aid was given to Reading in 1978 and in each subsequent year.

For the years from 1978–79 to 1985–86 inclusive, Reading borough councils estimated expenditure under the traditional urban programme totalled £1,772,845, of which 75 per cent. is being met by central Government.
