asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will take advantage of the visit by the Prime Minister of Turkey to this country between 17th and 20th February to press for the transfer of long-term British prisoners in Turkey to prisons in the United Kingdom under the term of the Turkish law which permits bilateral arrangements for repatriation.

During the visit by the Prime Minister of Turkey, the Turkish Government were reminded of our hope that they will soon ratify the Council of Europe Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced persons which they signed on 19th June 1985.
