HC Deb 25 February 1986 vol 92 cc485-6W
Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he intends to introduce measures to ensure that national park authorities sell all the land they own, apart from that required for information centres, car parks and other such purposes.

Mrs. Rumbold

No. We believe that national park authorities should pursue their responsibilities where possible without holding land themselves. However, we recognise that there may be good reason, in some circumstances, for them to retain land in their ownership.
