HC Deb 25 February 1986 vol 92 cc521-2W
27. Mr. Amess

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received about the possible removal of maternity and other associated services from Basildon hospital.

Mr. Whitney

As at 14 February we had received 34 representations about various aspects of the proposals for reorganising services in Basildon and Thurrock health authority. These representations followed the issue of a consultation document by the authority. It is not possible to separate those representations which dealt only with those proposals affecting Basildon hospital's maternity or other services.
