Mr. Donald Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has any outstanding requests from the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority for permission to carry out test drilling in Scotland.

Any application for planning permission for test drilling would be submitted to the planning authority for the area concerned. I am not aware of any current applications. If planning permission were refused an appeal might be lodged with me but no appeals by the authority relating to test drilling are outstanding.
