HC Deb 24 February 1986 vol 92 cc410-1W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Prime Minister if Her Majesty's Government intend to co-operate with the inquiry into Sellafield called for by the European Assembly in terms of the Euratom agreement; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

The United Kingdom Government have received no request from the Commission following the passage of resolutions by the European Parliament on 20 February relating to Sellafield. United Kingdom authorities have complied with Community requirements to provide information on environmental radiation monitoring. This information confirmed that Sellafield has been operated in accordance with the basis standards for radiological protection laid down by the European Community.
