Mr. Simon Hughesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps Her Majesty's Government are taking with regard to United Nations resolution 32/64 of 8 December 1977 calling on all member states to make a unilateral declaration against torture and embody it in their own legislation.
§ Mr. MellorThe United Kingdom has signed, and intends to ratify, the United Nations convention on torture which givs effect to the principles underlying the United Nations declaration that gave rise to the resolution.
