§ Mr. Giles ShawIt is the responsibility of the broadcasting authorities to ensure that due impartiality is observed in their radio and television programmes as respects matters of political or industrial controversy or relating to current public policy. The Government do not monitor television and radio programmes, but where appropriate it does reflect public concern about programme matters as evidenced by press and Parliamentay exchange and correspondence received from hon. Members and from the public.
