§ 39. Mr. Holt
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if his Department has given its full evidence to the Peacock inquiry.

§ Mr. Giles Shaw
The Home Office submitted written evidence, largely of a factual nature, to the committee on financing the BBC in July 1985, and has since responded to a number of specific requests for further information. In November four officials gave oral evidence at the committee's request. There are no present plans to offer further evidence though, if the committee requests further information, the Department will of course seek to help.
