HC Deb 18 February 1986 vol 92 c133W
16. Mr. O'Brien

asked the Paymaster General what were the numbers of school leavers who are engaged on training courses provided by (a) industry and commerce, (b) local government and (c) the YTS during 1985.

Mr. Trippier

In 1985 there were over 400,000 entrants to YTS throughout Great Britain, and most of them joined schemes run by industry, commerce and local government. Information is not held on the numbers of school leavers participating in other training courses provided by industry, commerce and local government.
