§ Mr. Soamesasked the Minister for the Arts if he intends to change any of the cash limits for which he is responsible.
§ Mr. LuceSubject to parliamentary approval of the necessary spring Supplementary Estimate, I propose to increase the 1985–86 cash limit on class V, vote 10, (Arts, the Arts Council and other institutions, the National Heritage and the Government Arts Collection) by £520,000 from £129,677,000 to £130,197,000. The increase is required in respect of items being accepted in lieu of tax, in accordance with my predecessor's statement to Parliament on 26 July 1985. The increase will be charged to the reserve and will not, therefore, add to the planning total of public expenditure.
