§ Mr. Wattsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if it is the practice of the prison service to disclose in response to inquiries from third parties whether a named individual is serving a prison sentence and the prison at which the sentence is being served.
§ Mr. MellorInformation about individual inmates is not normally given to third parties without the consent of the inmate concerned. If my hon. Friend has a particular case in mind, perhaps he would let me have details and I will look into it.
