§ Mr. Boyesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will produce a table, by water authority, of the specified rate of return on value of net assets for each year from 1979 to the latest date for which information is available.
§ Mr. John Patten[pursuant to his reply, 15 December 1986]: The table shows rates of return of value of net assets from 1981–82 to 1987–88.
The form of accounts used prior to 1981–82 does not enable a rate of return comparable with later years to be calculated.
(b) The information requested in respect of Committee stage amendments is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
