§ Mr. AncramThere are currently 159 miles of motorway in use in Scotland, and a further two miles are under construction. Of the total in use, 22 miles (approximately 14 per cent.) are lit. There are no plans to light the stretch of motorway under construction, but it is planned to provide lighting on another five miles of existing motorway.
