On the evening of 4 December I attended the Merseyside Industries dinner at the Lyceum club. On the morning of 5 December I had a breakfast meeting with the editors of the Liverpool Daily Post and the Liverpool Echo. Later in the day I visited the Ford Motor Company at Halewood and my Department's Liverpool office.
