Whether they will make a statement on the United Kingdom's record of implementing European Community environmental directives, and how that performance compares with that of other member states.

I understand that actions have been brought in the European Court of Justice for non-compliance with environmental directives as follows:

Germany 2
Luxembourg 2
Netherlands 2
Denmark 1
Greece 1
Ireland 1

The noble Lord may be interested to see a copy of the survey carried out by the European Environmental Bureau using information published by the Commission of the European Community from which these figures are taken. I have placed a copy in the Library.
