§ Mrs. CurrieThe intake of medical schools is the concern of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science. I understand, however, that universities, of which medical schools form a constituent part, are autonomous institutions under the terms of their charters, and as such are responsible for their own admission arrangements.
The selection of candidates for nursing schools is for individual health authorities, which are advised to comply with the code of practice prepared by the Commission for Racial Equality.
