asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what information he has concerning the incidence of AIDS by ethnic grouping.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the latest figures for the number of cases of AIDS within the United Kingdom; and how many have so far died.

Mr. Newton

The figure at the end of November 1986 was 599, of whom 296 had died.

Mr. Stuart Holland

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) whether anti-viral lubricant agents will be made freely available for use in conjunction with condoms as an added measure to prevent the spread of the AIDS virus;

(2) whether in the Government's advertising campaign to promote safer sex and the prevention of the spread of AIDS virus he will be advising people to use anti-viral lubricant agents in conjunction with condoms.
