§ Mr. WaldenThe level of grant reflects the necessity for the consideration of student needs to be balanced by an assessment of what taxpayers can reasonably be expected to contribute. My right hon. Friend will announce rates of grant for the academic year 1987–88 shortly.
Future arrangements for students' financial support are the object of a comprehensive review.
