§ Mr. LuceResponsibility for recruitment to the grades of clerical officer and clerical assistant rests with Government Departments individually. Information on the number of vacancies in these grades is not held centrally and I regret that the information requested could not be obtained by the Cabinet Office (Management and Personnel Office) without incurring disproportionate expenditure.
