§ Mr. Michael McNair-Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Transport why a public inquiry into the possible route of the Newbury bypass cannot be held in less than the currently estimated six to nine months.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyObjections may be made until 29 January 1987. Thereafter, sufficient time will be needed to consider them and to evaluate any alternative routes proposed by objectors. Experience suggests that six to nine months is a reasonable estimate. The inquiry will be held as soon as possible.
