Mr. Ron Brownasked the Minister for the Arts what recent representations he has received from the Scottish Arts Council about the level of central Government funding for the arts in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LuceNone. Central Government basic provision for the Arts Council in 1987–88 will be £113.8 million; it will be for the council to determine the Scottish share of this. In addition, the Government have continued the special provision of £0.6 million for the support of Scottish national companies which was made in 1986–87 following Scotland's local government re-organisation.
