§ Mr. LangIn the period between the start of 1983 and 31 October 1986, total payments of regional selective assistance (RSA) to companies in the Kilmarnock and Loudoun parliamentary constituency amounted to £951,000. Comprehensive information on payments of regional development grant (RDG) on a constituency basis is not available. However, since 1983, payments of RDG exceeding £25,000 to firms in the Kilmarnock employment local office area amounted to over £2.3 million. Information on jobs created or safeguarded in the period since 1983 as a result of awards of RDG and RSA and on payments for other forms of assistance under the Industry Acts is not readily available.
