HC Deb 23 April 1986 vol 96 c173W
Mr. David Atkinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects the Chair of State to be returned permanently to the Palace of Westminster; and if he will make a statement.

Sir George Young

[pursuant to his reply, 21 April 1986, c. 69.]: I understand that the Chair of State made for Prince Albert was recently purchased by the National Heritage Memorial Fund. The trustees of the fund intend to restore the chair with a view to its return to the Palace of Westminster.
