HC Deb 21 April 1986 vol 96 c47W
22. Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made on the implications of his decision on the Channel Tunnel Group scheme for a fixed channel link for the respective roles in the scheme of the French high speed train systems and the competing British Rail systems.

Mr. David Mitchell

British Rail has agreed in principle with the French railways that services between London and Paris will be provided by a single fleet of trains, which they will jointly manage. Arrangments for other services have yet to be made.
